Plastic ABS is now widely used, the use of plastic ABC needs to be tested, so what should be paid attention to in the performance test of plastic abs?
(1) General performance:
The appearance of ABS is opaque, ivory colored granular material, non-toxic, tasteless, low water absorption. Its products can be dyed into various colors, and has 90% high gloss. ABS has good adhesion with other materials and is easy to be printed, coated and plated. The oxygen index of ABS is 18.2, which is a flammable polymer. The flame is yellow, with black smoke, scorched but not dripping, and gives off a special cinnamon flavor.
ABS is a kind of resin with good comprehensive properties. It has high impact strength and surface hardness in a wide temperature range. Its thermal deformation temperature is higher than that of PA and PVC, and its dimensional stability is good.
The fluidity of ABS melt is better than PVC and PC, but worse than PE, PA and PS, similar to POM and hips. ABS is a non Newtonian fluid, and its melt viscosity is related to processing temperature and shear rate, but it is more sensitive to shear rate.
(2) Mechanical properties
ABS has excellent mechanical properties and good impact strength, which can be used at very low temperature. Even if ABS products are damaged, it can only be tensile failure, not impact failure. ABS has excellent wear resistance, good dimensional stability and oil resistance. It can be used for bearings under medium load and speed. The creep property of ABS is larger than that of PSF and PC, but smaller than that of PA and POM. The bending strength and compressive strength of ABS are poor among plastics. The mechanical properties of ABS are greatly affected by temperature.
(3) Thermal properties
ABS belongs to amorphous polymer, no obvious melting point; the melt viscosity is high, the fluidity is poor, the weather resistance is poor, ultraviolet can change color; the hot deformation temperature is 70-107 ℃ (about 85), and the product can be increased by about 10 ℃ after annealing treatment. ABS is sensitive to temperature and shear rate, and can be used for a long time from - 40 ℃ to 85 ℃.
(4) Electrical performance
ABS has good electrical insulation and is hardly affected by temperature, humidity and frequency, so it can be used in most environments.
(5) Environmental performance
ABS is not affected by water, inorganic salts, alkali alcohols, hydrocarbon solvents and various acids, but soluble in ketones, aldehydes and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It will cause stress cracking when corroded by glacial acetic acid and vegetable oil.
